HarpFEST 2025
Presented by Timothy’s Perrysburg Foundation, the Discovers Music Series will conclude their 2024-25 season with the Ninth Annual HarpFEST and harp camp. Directed by Nancy Lendrim, principal harpist for the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, the week-long camp is attended by more than a dozen harpists of various ages. Along with Ms. Lendrim, Ms. Rachael Donaldson will be teaching some of the younger students. Sponsors of the camp include St. Tim’s Discovers, TAPA (Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts) and NW Ohio Chapter of the American Harp Society.
After four days of intense lessons and workshops, the HarpFEST is the grand finale concert presented by the camp participants before a public audience. Solos, small ensembles and selections featuring the entire camp are on the program. Music selections will include three well-known folk tunes, “Simple Gifts” “The Water Is Wide” and “The Ash Grove” and a creative arrangement of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”. Among the harpists in this year’s camp, are students from Perrysburg Schools. St. Ursula and Toledo School for the Arts.
